High Power Singlemode And Polarization Maintaining Inline Fixed Attenuators

OZ Optics Limited, a global supplier of fiber optic products for existing and next-generation optical networks, now offers a new line of high power inline fixed attenuators to our fixed attenuator family. Available in singlemode and polarization maintaining (PM) designs, these attenuators utilize a new patent pending technique, capable of handling up to 2 Watts of optical power, to reduce the signal intensity in a simple, low cost package. These attenuators are used in fiber optic transmission systems to reduce the optical power received by the receiver in optical networks. Polarization maintaining versions are ideal for next generation systems, incorporation polarization maintaining fibers to minimize the effects of polarization dependent losses (PDL) and polarization mode dispersion (PMD).

Fixed attenuators are available with between 0.5 to 10 dB attenuation, in 0.1dB increments, and maintain polarization to better than 25dB. Both patchcord style and male-to-female plug style attenuators are offered. Attenuators can be made for operating wavelengths from 488nm to 1650nm, capable of handling up to 2 Watts optical power at 1550nm wavelengths. Contact OZ Optics for more detailed information.
